Command box

The controller that connects the kiosk, sensors, and gate.

Installed near the access point, the command box receives authorized inputs, controls compatible equipment and reports available status to the platform.

Role in the system

A technical component with a defined responsibility

The command box does not set access policy. It executes the command resulting from the configured journey and provides an integration point for compatible readers, gates, detectors and signals.

Integration

Every input and output is validated.

Voltage, protocols, safe behaviour and available states vary by equipment. Design confirms interfaces before wiring; an electrical contact alone does not guarantee a complete integration.

Continuity

Failure behaviour is a project decision.

Network loss, power failure, blocked equipment and emergency access are documented with the operator and relevant manufacturers. Manual commands remain controlled and available only to authorized people.

The platform can support remote diagnosis when data and communications are available; physical service may still be required.

Next step

Have the site interfaces reviewed.

An equipment list and available wiring diagrams are a useful starting point.
